Four Life Changing Tips From Year of Yes

This reminder, say yes to the things that scare you, was what I needed to stop living a complacent life. This is the entire theme of Shonda’s book. Each yes that she said led to bigger and better outcomes for her career and personal life. Say yes to the things that scare you. You’ll be a better person for it.

5 Easy Ways to Reduce Your Clothing Carbon Footprint

I was very unhappy with my wardrobe. That is when I cleared out everything my closet, Marie Kondo style, and sold/donated anything that didn’t bring me joy. And then I was left with almost nothing. I’m not even exaggerating. Around this same time I watched The True Cost documentary on Netflix and my life was forever changed. This documentary sparked a passion in me that I hadn’t felt in a long time. I knew immediately that I wanted to be a more conscious consumer.

Welcome to Culley Avenue

After a lot of thought and consideration and many discussions with the people I surround myself with, I’ve made a decision… I want to do what I originally set out to do with this blog. I want to create a space for people who know that there is more to this life that they haven’t acheived yet. Because that is how I feel right now. It’s how I’ve felt for a long time. And there’s no more time to waste. Each day that goes by is one less day that we have.

Teeth Whitening for Sensitive Teeth

I have tried teeth whitening throughout the years, like most of us have. I did the strips and whitening toothpastes. Honestly, I never really had great results. I need instant gratification if I’m going to stick to something, like teeth whitening. Another option that I’ve considered is professional teeth whitening but I just wasn’t in the place financially to pay so much for something cosmetic. So when Smile Brilliant reached out to me to try their at home teeth whitening kit, I took it as a sign and immediately jumped on board!

My Current Obsessions

It has been way too long since I have posted anything on the blog. At the beginning of the new year I promised myself that I would keep a regular blog schedule, but then life happened. It has already been a crazy year and it is flying by. I cannot believe that it is the middle of March, but I think that I say that almost monthly. It just goes to show that you can’t put off the things that you want to pursue. For me, that is this blog.

So, I decided to get back into the groove with everything that I have been loving this week. Let’s do this!

My Favorite Things... This Week

So what can you look forward to during this weekly blog post? Anything & everything from books to clothes to food to whatever it is that has piqued my interest this week. Mostly, I want to share with you anything that has made my life better, easier or has entertained me over the past 7 days.

Happy New Year!

That’s what I’m doing in 2019, tapping into a version of myself that I haven’t met yet. Over the last year I have dug deep down into myself to figure out who I am and what makes me happy. It was a year of reflection, some serious hard talks and a few pity parties. All of that brought me to the conclusion: 2019 has a lot to offer!

Thank You, 2018

After reflecting back on 2018, I can see how I didn’t reach any of my goals. I wasn’t ready. I was still in the “excuse making” phase of my journey. I told myself that I deserved a break. I told myself that tomorrow I would do better. I told myself a lot of things to make up for the fact that I wasn’t doing what I knew I needed to do in order to succeed.

Binge This Week: The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel

The fascinating journey that Amy Sherman-Palladino, the show’s creator, takes you on to see how Midge handles this unplanned event in her very planned out life is mesmerizing. Not to mention hilarious. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is exactly the show we need to cozy up to during these long winter months. Lucky for us, season 2 is premiering December 5th. That is just enough time for you to binge season 1 if you haven’t already.
