Culley Avenue Obsessions

Hey! It has been way too long since I have posted anything on the blog. At the beginning of the new year I promised myself that I would keep a regular blog schedule, but then life happened. It has already been a crazy year and it is flying by. I cannot believe that it is the middle of March, but I think that I say that almost monthly. It just goes to show that you can’t put off the things that you want to pursue. For me, that is this blog.

So, I decided to get back into the groove with everything that I have been loving this week. Let’s do this!

Books/Audiobooks

I consume most of my books through Audible now, but I have been buying used books as well. These are the books that I’ve read or listened to this week that I highly recommend.

Stop everything that you’re doing and buy this book!

I love a good motivational book as much as the next person. But this book takes it to the next level. Every single woman needs to hear these words. I would say that I am a confident person and even I found myself realizing that there are certain things that I do out of self-consciousness or fear of failure.

this is a must read/listen! (I listened to this on Audible while painting the window trim in my dining room.)

You are a badass… now let your bank account reflect that!

I had been holding off on these books for a while now. Mainly because I was stubborn and thought that I knew how to make money. Friends, the second you think that you know it all, you’ve failed. There is always more to learn. always.

I listened to this book on a drive down to omaha recently. AFter I started implementing the practices in this book about positive thinking and how to talk to yourself about money, I was able to reduce my business debt by an extra $4800 in one day!

while typing that last sentence I thought to myself, “if i read that, i wouldn’t believe her.” there are some aspects about my life that involve other people that I am not comfortable sharing on the blog out of respect for their privacy. I share almost everything though! So long story short, I had some financial help when purchasing my first business. I owed $4800. That person forgave the rest of my loan recently.

That is how I reduced my debt by $4800 in one day, and I firmly believe it has to do with what I learned in this book!

Podcasts

I have a pretty regular rotation of podcasts that I listen to, but every once in a while an episode will really speak to me.

So Money with Farnoosh Torabi featuring Tonya Rapley

There is nothing that I love more than a success story. Especially if it someone that I can relate to. Were you broke and now you’re not? How? Tell me everything!

That is what you’re going to get with this episdoe featuring tonya rapley.

Wardrobe

I spend a vast majority of my time looking at clothes and accessories. Honestly, it’s embarrassing how much time I spend just looking. Because I’m trying not to spend my life savings on clothes, I really am picky about what I buy anymore. So if it makes it into the closet, you know it’s got to be good!

Sam edelman hazel pumps

My every day work attire consists of 3 pairs of black leggings that i have on rotation and the most comfortable shirt that I can find that day. Needless to say, high heels are completely unnecessary. Until they’re not.

I’ve recently realized that I have sold/donated all of my nice clothes. Apparently i thought i would never have to attend another semi-formal or fancy event again. so when I needed something to wear to a funeral I was on the hunt for something comfortable, timeless and good quality.

enter these shoes. Ladies, they come in wide! Maybe that doesn’t excite you as much as it does me, but if you have a wide foot you understand my pain. honestly, i never knew that high heels could be semi-comfortable until these. definitely worth every penny.

WILD FEATHER FARM

EVER SINCE MICHAEL AND I MOVED IN TOGETHER, WE HAVE HAD CHICKENS. I NEVER GREW UP ON A FARM SO I AM STILL LEARNING ALL OF THE INS AND OUTS WHEN IT COMES TO CARING FOR LIVESTOCK. WE’VE HAD OUR FAIR SHARE OF CHICKEN INCIDENTS IN THE LAST 3 YEARS.

THIS YEAR I MADE THE DECISION TO PUT A LOT MORE EFFORT INTO CARING FOR OUR GIRLS, LIKE THE GOOD FARM WIFE I AM! (HA!) THIS IS HOW I FOUND WILD FEATHER FARM’S INSTAGRAM ACCOUNT. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND CHECK OUT THEIR COOP HIGHLIGHT!

I am sure there was more I was obsessed with this week but I have got to go get some work done! What have you been loving this week? I want to know, maybe it’s what I’ve been looking for too!

xx, Dani
