My Favorite Things... This Week

I’m so excited for this new weekly feature: My Favorite Things... This Week! Because let’s be honest, my obsessions change quite often.

So what can you look forward to during this weekly blog post? Anything & everything from books to clothes to food to whatever it is that has piqued my interest this week. Mostly, I want to share with you anything that has made my life better, easier or has entertained me over the past 7 days.

Let’s do this:


Over the holiday break I was so lost. I have a regular rotation of podcasts that I listen to every single day. Of course they all took a much deserved vacation which left me in a podcast funk. That is when I discovered the Second Life podcast with Hillary Kerr. It’s all about women who have found their success in their second career. It’s so inspiring and a binged every episode! I can’t wait to hear all of the stories in 2019. If you’re looking for some inspiration in your life or are just curious about some very successful women, this podcast is for you!

My current favorite bra!

Ok ladies, let’s talk bras. I have a love/hate relationship with bras. I feel like I can’t be productive unless I have one on, but I can’t wait to take it off at the end of the day. That is until I discovered this bralette. It is the perfect material so that it doesn’t dig into your sides and chafe. It’s super comfortable that you barely even notice that you have it on! It is definitely my go to and I couldn’t recommend it more!

Food & Drink

It’s a new year so that means it’s time to start it off right with really listening to your body. My body was telling me that I need to lay off the sugar! Seriously. So maybe current obsessions this week are:

  • Broccoli: I’ve been adding broccoli to everything. I’ve found that I’m not a big salad person. I just don’t really like lettuce unless it’s covered in everything unhealthy. But I do love broccoli and it’s super easy to add to any meal.

  • Water with lemon & mint: I bought a carafe with a lid for this. I cut up about 2 lemons and add mint leaves. I keep refilling the pitcher for 2 days. I try to drink 3-4 pitchers/day. I replace the ingredients every other day.

  • Avoiding sugar like the plague: I’m not going so far as to avoid products with sugar in them, like ketchup, but I am avoiding anything that is just straight up sugar. In December I just ate whatever I wanted, it’s time to reset.

Do yourself a favor and take the time to sit and listen to what your body needs. Below are some tools that I’m using to make this process easier. (Disclaimer: I am using the Whole 30 book as a general guide to eating without sugar, I am not currently doing Whole 30.)


Let’s talk about how late to the game I am when it comes to the blog, The Atlantic Pacific. How have I never seen/heard of Blair Eadie, the brilliant mastermind behind this blog, before? Her style is everything that I aspire to be. Honestly, ask the people that truly know me. They would all tell you that I would 100% wear everything that Blair wears. She is my long lost style twin!
