Five Things You Need To Know About Microblading

Microblading has had quite the buzz in the beauty world and I can attest that it should. If you're like me and are on a constant journey towards better hair, skin, nails, etc. then I'm sure that you have heard the saying, "your eyebrows shape your face." Well mine blended in with my face so well that it looked like my forehead stopped at my eyelids. See picture below for evidence.

Thanks to the tiny brow trend of the early 2000s, my eyebrows were severely over plucked and not even close to the same shape anymore. About two years ago I started penciling in my eyebrows, a beauty step that I assumed was meant for little old ladies like my grandma. But it ended up changing the whole dynamic of my face. I finally had dimension! But most days I prefer not wearing any makeup. I felt that I had to though because my lack of eyebrows made me look paler than normal and slightly ill. So when I heard about microblading I knew I had to check it out for myself.

What is microblading? "Microblading is a form of tattoo artistry where pigment is implanted under your skin with a manual handheld tool instead of a machine." (source)

I met with Chris at Enduring Esthetics for my consultation. She is extremely knowledgeable and showed me what my eyebrows could potentially look like. It was a no brainer to schedule the appointment with her to get them done. I highly recommend Enduring Esthetics to anybody in Nebraska. After my procedure, a few of my friends have went to her as well and have been overjoyed with their results.

Here is everything that you need to know about Microblading before you dive into the procedure:

Results last between 11-18 months.

Microblading is a form of tattoo, without the permament results. In order to keep your eyebrows looking their best, you will need to get them retouched every year or so.

Your brows will look textured and real.

The beauty of microblading is that you end up with eyebrows that look pretty damn close to the real thing. This is because they are drawn on by hand, one stroke at a time.

The procedure is relatively pain free.

For me, the only part that hurt was when the numbing solution was inserted into the brow. But that was minimal discomfort that lasted less than one minute. I could barely feel the rest of the procedure.

There is no downtime.

The entire procedure lasted about two hours. After that, I went about my day. There is some redness but overall, you look better than before.

You'll need a follow up.

After about five weeks, I went in for my follow up appointment. At this time you're able to fix any areas that may have faded from the initial procedure. Because everyone's skin is different, some pigment may not take at first... this is completely normal.

Overall the entire process was extremely easy and I am beyond thrilled with my results. I have had my eyebrows microbladed for over a year now and would continue to recommend this process.

Have you ever thought of getting your eyebrows microbladed? What's stopping you?

As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Enduring Esthetics does not pay me to promote their business.
